NEW DELHI — Union Steel Secretary Sandeep Pondrik, a 1993-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries.
The decision, approved by the Competent Authority, comes following the superannuation of outgoing Secretary Kamran Rizvi on October 31, 2026. Pondrik will manage the heavy industries portfolio alongside his responsibilities at the Ministry of Steel until a regular incumbent is formally named by the government.
