As part of the recent administrative upgrades in the state, two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the 2002 batch, M. Selvendran and Ajit Kumar, have been promoted to the rank of Principal Secretary; these promotions, finalized by the Departmental Promotion Committee, are set to take effect from January 1, 2026, as the officers move into higher-level policy-making and departmental leadership roles.
