AMARAVATI — A major political storm has erupted in Andhra Pradesh over the state’s massive “Mega DSC” teacher recruitment drive. Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has leveled severe allegations of corruption against the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government, demanding an independent investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The state government has strongly rejected the accusations, maintaining that the high-stakes employment drive was executed with complete transparency and technological safeguards.
The Core Allegations: Paper Leaks and Quota Manipulation
The Mega DSC initiative stands as one of the largest public sector employment drives in Andhra Pradesh, designed to fill approximately 16,000 teaching positions across government, municipal, and tribal welfare schools.
Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the integrity of the examination was systematically compromised to benefit specific individuals. His primary allegations center on three major operational failures:
-
Compromised Question Security: Reddy claimed that evidence, including leaked videos and candidate complaints, points toward a coordinated racket where teaching jobs were actively sold to the highest bidders.
-
Centralized Vulnerabilities: The YSRCP chief accused the state administration of intentionally centralizing key evaluation and data management responsibilities to bypass institutional checks and balances.
-
Sports Quota Exploitation: In a particularly sharp charge, Reddy alleged that several individuals secured lucrative teaching appointments under the sports quota reservation without even appearing for the mandatory qualifying examinations.
“The truth will come out only through an independent CBI investigation,” Reddy stated during a press briefing, adding that the YSRCP will launch state-wide, constituency-level protests to highlight the grievances of lakhs of aggrieved applicants.
Government Rebuttal: Full Digital Transparency and Strict Audits
Faced with intense political heat, senior bureaucrats from the state’s education and sports departments held consecutive briefings to clarify the administration’s stance and reassure the public.
| Department official | Portfolio | Official Defense Statement |
| Kona Sasidhar | Secretary, Education Department | The recruitment was executed via a fully secure, end-to-end digital model. There is zero possibility of data extraction or question paper leakages. |
| Ajay Jain | Special Chief Secretary for Sports | Every single credential under the sports quota was cross-verified across multiple tiers of specialized scrutiny committees before final placement. |
To signal its commitment to continuous public sector employment, the Education Department further announced that it is already preparing a fresh Mega DSC notification for October 2026, with the next round of state-wide competitive examinations scheduled for December 2026.
Political analysts note that the clash over the teacher recruitment drive reflects a deep, ongoing political rivalry in the state, with the opposition attempting to corner the ruling alliance on youth employment and governance integrity.
