BHOPAL — In a key top-tier administrative shuffle, the Madhya Pradesh Government has officially promoted two 1994-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to the rank of Special Director General of Police (DGP pay scale).
The elevation recognizes senior leadership within the state’s law enforcement hierarchy, granting enhanced administrative authority to key operational divisions.

Rajababu Singh: Formerly serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Police (Rail) in Bhopal, Singh has been elevated to the post of Special Director General of Police (Rail), Bhopal.

Gupta: Serving as ADGP overseeing Community Policing, RTI, Co-operative Fraud, Lok Seva Guarantee, Police Manual, R&D, and Police Reforms at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Bhopal, Gupta has been promoted to Special Director General of Police while retaining his existing multi-departmental portfolio.
The official order formalizes the transition of both senior officials into the top DGP pay scale, strengthening leadership oversight across railway policing, public service delivery, research, and administrative reforms within the Madhya Pradesh Police Department.
