NEW DELHI: In a key senior-level deployment within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the appointment of veteran Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shri Vidhi Kumar Birdi to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
According to an official Office Memorandum (No. I-21017/08/2026-IPS.III) issued on June 1, 2026, from Kartavya Bhavan-3, Janpath, New Delhi, Birdi will be joining the paramilitary force on a central deputation basis.

Officer Profile: Shri Vidhi Kumar Birdi is a distinguished senior police officer belonging to the 2003 AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre.

Designated Rank: The competent authority has cleared his appointment as Inspector General (IG) in the CRPF, placing him at Level-14 in the pay matrix.

Deputation Terms: The deployment is being executed against an existing vacancy under standard terms and conditions of central deputation.

Immediate Release Directive: To facilitate a swift transition, the Ministry has requested the concerned administrative authority to relieve the officer immediately so he can assume his new central assignment.
