NEW DELHI — The Union Government has tasked 1992-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer Rajendra Kumar with the additional charge of Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat (ISCS).
Kumar, who serves as the full-time Secretary of the Department of Border Management, steps into the role following the superannuation of former ISCS chief Ashish Srivastava on October 31, 2026. Approved by the Competent Authority, this dual-charge arrangement ensures uninterrupted leadership over federal center-state consultative bodies until a permanent appointment is made by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
